Study in Japan from Nepal
Most Nepali students who study in Japan from Nepal do not begin at a university. They begin at a Japanese language school, then move into a vocational college or university after 18 months to two years.
Global Standard Educare helps Nepali students study in Japan from Nepal, from the first counselling session to the day you land. We handle school selection, your Certificate of Eligibility file, your No Objection Certificate and your visa application through VFS. We also teach the Japanese you now need in order to qualify.
Japan is our specialism, not one destination on a long list. That distinction matters more in 2026 than it did last year, because the entry rules changed.
- Nepal is now the largest source country at Japanese language schools, with 44,632 students enrolled as of May 2025 (JASSO).
- From the October 2026 intake, schools must verify your Japanese with a test certificate plus an interview. A study-hours certificate alone is no longer enough.
- The Certificate of Eligibility takes two to three months, so intakes close five to six months before they start.
- We have been placing Nepali students and workers in Japan for close to a decade, with more than 500 sent to date.

What is included
- Route and intake assessment. We review your academics, budget and sponsor documents before you commit to anything.
- School matching. We place students with partner language schools and colleges chosen on location, cost, dormitory availability and progression record.
- Japanese language training in house. JLPT and JFT-Basic preparation taught by our own instructors, not outsourced.
- Document and sponsor file preparation. Including the financial history immigration actually examines.
- COE coordination. We work with your school through the two to three month Certificate of Eligibility process.
- NOC and remittance guidance. Your MoEST No Objection Certificate and the bank transfer that depends on it.
- Visa file and interview preparation. Lodged through VFS Global in Kathmandu.
- Pre-departure briefing. Residence card, health insurance, and the work permit you apply for on arrival.
- Support after you arrive. Progression planning into a college or university, and career preparation for the Japanese job market.
You are a good fit if you have completed +2 or an equivalent 12 years of education, have a sponsor who can document where their income comes from, and are willing to study Japanese seriously before you leave.
You are not a good fit if you are looking for a work route dressed up as a study route. Japan enforces its student rules, and we will not build a file that will not stand up.
Japanese Language Classes Information at Global Standard Educare
The October 2026 rule change turned Japanese language learning in Nepal from useful preparation into a visa requirement. We teach it under our own roof, which means the team preparing you for JLPT is the same team building your application file.
- JLPT preparation from N5 to N3. N5 covers the visa requirement. N3 opens up better vocational college options and stronger part-time work.
- JFT-Basic preparation to A2 level, for students targeting the Specified Skilled Worker route rather than a degree.
- Mock interviews in Japanese, modelled on the school interview you will actually sit
- JALTAN registration support for the JLPT sitting in Kathmandu.
Class timings and duration
Each level runs for four months. We operate three daily shifts so you can study around college or work, with a maximum of 30 students per shift.

Why Choose Global Standard Educare as Your Japan Consultancy in Nepal
There are hundreds of consultancies for Japan in Nepal. Most cover a dozen countries and treat Japan as one more line on the list.
- One destination, tracked properly. Our counsellors work Japan only, which is why this page reflects the April 2026 rule change and most competitors' pages do not.
- Language teaching in house. One team owns your JLPT preparation, your interview practice and your COE file. Three daily shifts, 30 students per batch, so you get taught rather than processed.
- Honest assessment. If your sponsor documents are not ready, we will tell you to wait an intake rather than take your money for an application that will be refused.
- Nearly a decade on one destination. We have been sending Nepali students and workers to Japan since 2017, more than 500 of them, and we work Japan only.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I apply if I do not know any Japanese yet?
Yes, but start now. From the October 2026 intake you need a test certificate such as JLPT N5 plus a school interview, so language study has to run alongside your application rather than after it. We build both into the same timeline from your first session.
When should I come in for counselling?
Five to six months before your target intake, at minimum. The Certificate of Eligibility alone takes two to three months. If you also need to reach JLPT N5 first, come in nine to twelve months ahead.
Do you charge for the initial counselling?
No. The first session is free and includes a review of your academic and sponsor documents. We will tell you honestly if your file is not ready for the intake you have in mind.
Do you only place students in language schools?
No. Language school is the most common starting point, but it is a bridge rather than a destination. We plan your progression into a vocational college or university from the beginning, because that is what opens up post-study work options in Japan.
